  • My Winter Favorites

Unlike most I am a huge fan of winter in all its highs and lows. I would much rather have it snow 12 inches in one night so I can stay in and not have to worry about anything but doing my favorite winter activities. Many people may say, “I love to read a book” or “I really like watching Christmas movies.” but I say BORING. When winter rolls around you got to do it right. But have no fear, I will fill you in on how to have a truly awesome winter. So when we do get 12 inches of snow, and we WILL, you may be the most prepared person on this planet.

    Drinking Hot Chocolate

A classic winter activity, but by far my favorite thing to do on a cold snowy day, the sheer aesthetic of seeing the smoke rise out of a mug in front of a big window with nothing but pure white snow outside leaves me speechless every time. Another reason this is a superior winter item In my book is the taste. The chocolaty and milky taste makes me want to do nothing but wrap up in a blanket and sit. For anyone looking for superior hot chocolate they should only visit one place, Starbucks!

    Sledding

I love to live at a fast pace, and other than roller coasters and driving, nothing feels faster than sledding down the steepest hill imaginable, bonus points in my book if there is a snow ramp at the bottom to catch some air-time and land in a huge pile of snow. I will say I have had my fair share of injuries and have been taken out by fellow sledders in horrific ways, but I have never broken a bone, so I count it as a win. For anyone wishing to experience supreme sledding visit Rockbrook Park in Omaha, Nebraska

    Santa Clause

Yes I know what you may be thinking, Kale, you are far too old to believe in Santa, and to your thinking I say you are correct, but I do not care. Obviously I had my childhood ruined when my parents told me it was them doing the chimney climbing and present planting, but with that information I have had the opportunity to “become” Santa! Nothing brings me more joy around Christmas than tricking my siblings with a footprint in flour on the floor or eating all of the cookies. I guess giving them gifts is cool as well, I usually stick with ole reliable, Lump of Coal soap, made by duke cannon
